Howard Searl, MD, MPH, FRCS

Howard Searle served in India, initially in a mission hospital in Central India, 1965-1971.
He helped to establish and direct [70-73] the Emmanuel Hospital Association, (www.eha-health.org). Following the transition to Indian leadership in 1974, he served as EHA’s first Medical Secretary through 6/1977. In 1977 to 1979, Howard was the Executive Director of HEED Bangladesh, facilitating health, education, and economic development.
in 1980-1985 he worked with MAP International, based in Wheaton IL, focusing on policy and planning with mission decision makers to encourage a perspective reaching beyond the mission hospital.
In 1985 –1987 he was the Program Officer / Consultant in community health and development at the Graham Center at Wheaton College.
1987 -1990 with World Relief, Wheaton IL, he helped to establish and direct their Child Survival Programs.
1984-2004, he worked as a medical officer in the Convenient Care Clinics in the Chicago’s western suburbs
1996-present, Howard has volunteered as Executive Director of EHA(USA), a US-based support group for the ministries of EHA in rural N India. Since retirement from medical practice in 2004, he serves full time in this capacity.
He remains committed to building capacity in indigenous medical missionaries as they seek more effective ways to provide access to health and development for the underserved in the Name and Spirit of Jesus Christ.
Howard holds an MD, MPH and FRCS
