Steve Huett, Ph.D.

I grew up in Walla Walla, Washington, which is where I attended my first two years of college. Thereafter, I studied abroad in Australia for a year, and as a consequence of a short-term mission trip to the northern region of the country, decided to switch my major from environmental biology to psychology. I completed my BS in Psychology at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. After college I spent a year working with the severely and persistently mentally ill for year, before enrolling in graduate school. I am currently earning a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary. Since coming to Fuller, I have developed an interest in burgeoning field of psychology in the international community, especially its potential effects on indigenous peoples of non-Western cultures. Research interests of mine are in language and culture related to psychology, and the integration of Christianity and psychology. My experiences studying indigenous programs while in Latin America have helped give me a context for these interests.
